Our Story

Humble Beginnings

Our journey unfolds in the heart of New York City during the early ’80s, where three ambitious brothers were determined to carve their place in the food scene. From washing dishes in the basements of various New York City kitchens, they finally seized their breakthrough moment—an establishment they could truly call their own. In 1983, amidst the bustling streets of New York City, the seeds were planted—a humble hole-in-the-wall chicken shack, Mama’s Fried Chicken was born.

A Shift & Evolution

Eager for new horizons, the brothers turned their sights to Jersey. It was here, in the embrace of The State of New Jersey, that the entire operation underwent a rebrand into Georgia Fried Chicken. They honed their craft in Jersey for over three decades, renowned for their hot & fresh fried chicken, and their homemade breakfast!

Honoring Our Roots

Fast forward to today—four decades later, as the baton passes to the next generation. Embracing this transition, we reconnect with our roots, and embrace our beginnings once more. The return of Mama’s Fried Chicken is now.

“Mama”

Returning to the name isn’t just a nod to our origins; it’s a tribute to all the remarkable ‘Mama’s’ out there as well. Our late “Mama” epitomized resilience, a widowed mother independently raising eight children in a 1 bedroom apartment. Despite life’s challenges, her kitchen radiated warmth, and her cooking touched hearts. We strive to emulate her spirit—resilience, warmth, and love—in every meal we serve today.

Join Us
